This May, The Stage welcomes an exciting new dining experience: The Black Cow, a bold fusion of Middle Eastern flavours and American steakhouse tradition. Led by Shiri Kraus and Amir Batito, the duo behind Camden’s acclaimed Black Cow and Epicurus, this new concept brings an elevated dining experience to the heart of Shoreditch.
Designed with a nod to The Stage’s rich history as the site of the Shakespearean Curtain Playhouse, The Black Cow is divided into three distinct spaces. The Performance Courtyard takes inspiration from open-air theatres, with olive trees and terracotta floors setting the mood for al fresco dining. The Gallery offers diners a front-row seat to the action, with an open kitchen spotlighted like a stage. For a more intimate setting, The Backstage serves as a private dining room, decked out with vintage signage and Broadway-inspired touches.
The menu is built around high-quality, dry-aged steaks, showcased in glass-fronted fridges. Signature cuts like picanha, T-bone, and onglet are grilled over a Josper and served tableside with a dramatic flourish of flaming herbs. The sharing-style menu also features standout starters such as cornbread with lamb butter, lamb merguez corn dogs, and ras el hanout-spiced corn.
Dessert options include spiced quince with almond crumble and gorgonzola cheesecake with fig coulis, while the bar serves up inventive cocktails like the Ottoman Martini with Turkish coffee and the Kashish with spiced orange. Wine lovers will find a thoughtfully curated selection of Old-World reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines.
With its striking design, theatrical elements, and standout menu, The Black Cow at The Stage is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Doors open on May 1st.
