‘The Stage is Set: Winter’s Ethereal Glow’ is a collaboration with Global Street Art, showcasing a series of captivating displays set within the windows of The Stage and will bring the work of The Bard into a new light.
The creative window displays showcase an interpretation of key scenes from ‘The Winter’s Tale’, one of Shakespeare’s later plays, known for blending elements of tragedy and comedy and featuring themes of jealousy, redemption and forgiveness. Mirroring the play’s exploration of time, change and renewal, the displays invite reflection on the power of healing during the festive season. Using a mix of intricate silhouette cutouts, dramatic lighting and innovative materials, each window will offer a unique interpretation of the play.
Inspired by Shoreditch’s rich Shakespearean history and the area’s deep connection to The Bard, via the forthcoming opening of the Museum of Shakespeare in 2025, the installation will combine Shakespeare’s classic work and modern art, offering a modern twist.
‘Winter’s Ethereal Glow’ is a celebration of culture, creativity and free public art in one of London’s most vibrant boroughs. Visitors are invited to come and experience these captivating artworks, with the final displays live now and throughout January 2025.
